Students in New Taipei City are benefiting from the city government’s commitment to redeveloping aging school facilities. The renovation and reconstruction of older school buildings with potential safety concerns has been treated as a top priority, with seismic reinforcement completed for 279 buildings. On the 19th, New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi visited Jiangcui Junior High School in Banqiao District to review the progress of reconstruction works as well as the results of seismic strengthening for existing buildings. He also instructed that the first phase of school redevelopment be completed on schedule by June next year, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students to grow and learn.
