On November 9, Premier Su Tseng-chang traveled to Taoyuan City to attend the groundbreaking and blessing ceremony for the Pingzhen Station section (Contract CJ18) of the Taoyuan Railway Underground Project. He noted that prior to President Tsai Ing-wen’s administration, the government had approved only NT$19.9 billion in central funding for the railway underground project. After President Tsai took office, however, central government subsidies were significantly increased to NT$78.6 billion, bringing the total project budget to NT$104.8 billion and enabling the project to proceed smoothly. In the future, Pingzhen will also feature a new commuter station with underground platforms, meeting the expectations and needs of local residents.

Premier Su further stated that Taoyuan, as Taiwan’s international gateway, has secured the largest amount of investment and opportunities nationwide under the “Three Major Programs for Investing in Taiwan,” creating more job opportunities and becoming the only municipality among Taiwan’s six special municipalities with positive population growth. He expressed hope that all stakeholders would work together to advance local development, promote Taiwan’s continued progress, and wished for the project launched today to be completed on schedule and with high quality, contributing to Taoyuan’s ongoing advancement.
