Shih Chiu Construction Achieves ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certification
Shih Chiu Construction & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shih Chiu Construction) has, over the past 40 years since its establishment, continuously improved occupational health and safety performance in the workplace. At the end of 2018, the company successfully passed the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification, becoming the second construction company in Taiwan to obtain SGS certification with Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) accreditation. On January 17, 2019, the company was officially awarded the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management certificate by SGS.
During the certification ceremony, Chairman Huang Tzu-ming stated that over the past four decades, Shih Chiu Construction has upheld five core commitments in its safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policy—construction safety, respect for life, safety and health policy, continuous improvement, and full employee participation—establishing a benchmark for sustainable corporate management. Achieving the ISO Occupational Health and Safety Management System international certification demonstrates the company’s leadership within Taiwan’s construction industry. In addition, the company received both the Ministry of Labor Golden Safety Award and the Public Construction Commission Golden Quality Award in 2018, reflecting the collective efforts of the team and the company’s proactive commitment to improving occupational safety and health management.
